        Newscaster With Picture of Hawke

        ANGLE on Voyeur's
TV. The screen has a SPECIAL BULLETIN graphic on it. Tish VanAlden appears
on background shot of Hawke Manor.

          TISH
Will he or won't he? This is Tish Van-Alden and that's the hot question
on everybody's lips during this primary season.

          Billionaire bachelor
and business genius Reed Hawke has yet to commit himself to the race
for the Oval Office. Well hang on to your hats folks because he's
gathering his flock this weekend to "help him reach a decision" and
when the Hawkes get together, the feathers are bound to fly.

        (Snapshot of Zack)

          I mean, imagine
how his son Zachary must feel after his sudden promotion off the Missile
Defense System project, just in time for it to propel dear old dad
into the White House. Getting a little chilly in Daddy's shadow, Zack?

         (Snapshot of Jessica)

           Then there's
daughter Jessica. Winging her way in from Japan with a new beau and
her own unique brand of environmental capitalism. Well, you may be
a big success back in the land of the rising Yen, but really, Jessica,
considering your father's America First ideals, isn't this just asking
            for trouble?

        (Snapshot of Margaret)

           Of course, of
course Reed's sister Margaret will be there to stake her claim to
Firstladydom. But Margaret, dear, please show some restraint rumor
has it you're already shopping for your inaugural gown, and planning
            the ball!

         (Snapshot of Chloe)

          Well, you'd better
plan on trouble if daughter Chloe shows up sporting her usual leather
look. My God! Reed has paid a fortune trying to keep his niece's escapades
out of the tabloids. Can you imagine what it'll cost him as President?
Oh, wouldn't you just love to be a fly on the wall and listen in?
            I--

         (her attention
          goes to her earpiece)

           Yes?... and now
we've gotten word that Reed Hawke is arriving at Hawke Manor. We go
live to Jay Jacobson at the scene.

        A MAN walks amid
a GROUP OF REPORTERS with MICROPHONES and CASSETTE RECORDERS. This is
REED HAWKE. He smiles warmly. Distinguished, late fifties, the man's
pure class. One reporter in the foreground questions him.

          REPORTER #1
Mr. Hawke, how do you feel about being ahead in the latest presidential
            polls?
          REED
Sounds like folks are ready for a change, doesn't it?
           REPORTER #1 (VO)
Your Missile Defense Shield has virtually ended the threat of nuclear
war, but does that make you the best man for president?
           REED
Never said I was. I leave that to the people to decide.
          REPORTER #1 (VO)
Come on Mr. Hawke. Isn't it true you have already decided to spend
whatever amount of money it takes to buy this election, sir?

        REED stops and looks
the MAN right in the eye (TO CAMERA).

          REED (with ingratiating
            charm)
Excuse me. I don't believe I know you.
          REPORTER #1 (VO)
            Jacobson, Channel 6.
           REED
Well, Mr. Jacobson, my family always comes first. Now, we're gonna
spend the next two days talking it over and then I will decide about
accepting the people's mandate... Now, if you're asking me if the
future of this country and the welfare of our children is worth me
risking my personal fortune, then the answer is a resounding...Yes,
it is! Have a great weekend, folks!

         REED walks off
camera, and the reporter steps into frame.

          REPORTER #1
Still no decision from Reed Hawke. We'll have further reports as the
            story develops.

        A2/300/100 - Chantal
forces Frank to bed at gun point.
         REED'S BEDROOM
          - DAY - DAY 1
         A WOMAN in business
dress undresses next to the BED, dropping the dress on the floor she
sits on the bed and removes her shoes. She moves towards the bathroom
stretching as she goes. She disappears through the bathroom door.
         A MAN enters the
room camera right, crosses to bathroom door holding his GUN in the ready
position. He starts to peek in but stops as he sees her dress on the
floor. As he is examining her shoe, THE WOMAN reappears in the bathroom
door wearing a MAN'S ROBE and, in one fluid motion, disarms the man,
forcing him onto the bed, ending up above him pointing the gun in his
          face.

           WOMAN
            Looking for me?
           MAN
Be careful with that thing, lady. That's--
          WOMAN (cocks the
            gun)
            Shut up!

         THE WOMAN removes
HANDCUFFS from his belt loop with one deft motion, and hands them to
          him.

           WOMAN
            Put these on
           MAN
What are you going to do? What are you going to do?
           WOMAN (smiling)
            Anything I want.

        The WOMAN unbuckles
the man's belt and opens the front of his pants. She opens her robe
her body moving rhythmically against his.

        Suddenly A PHONE
RINGS. The WOMAN grins playfully and pulls a CELLULAR PHONE out of her
          clothes.

           WOMAN
Good day. Hawke Manor...yes, everything is ready. Uh huh, I have them
for you sir. Frank? Oh, I'm sorry, sir, I'm afraid Frank's tied up
            right now. Yes, sir.

         She snaps the phone
          closed.

           FRANK
            What's going on?
           CHANTAL
            Oh, he's arriving.

        She gathers up her
clothes and heads for the bathroom. He tries to get up, but can't.

           FRANK
Oh, Christ, come on, get me out of these things. Damn. Come on, Chantal.
This is no time for games. Get me out of these things.

        CHANTAL exits the
          bathroom as she continues dressing.

          CHANTAL
There's always time for games, Frank.
           FRANK
OK, OK I promise that I'll do the Peruvian sheepherder thing if you'll
just let me up. Now come on.
           CHANTAL (she
            laughs tauntingly)
Oh, Frank, Frank, Frank. You know, I wonder what the future president
of the United States will think if he finds you cuffed to his bed.
           FRANK
            This is not funny.
          CHANTAL
            His head of security...

         Laughing, she walks
out of the room, leaving him there.

          FRANK
Chantal uncuff me, damnit! Uncuff me!
           CHANTAL Oh, Frank.
There there there there there. Everything so serious.
          FRANK
            Get back here.
           CHANTAL
            Have fun Frankie...
          FRANK
            Chantal! Damnit! goddamnit!

         B1/220/100 - Margaret
and Chantal clash over Reed's image
         FOYER - DAY - DAY
          1
         As REED makes his
way through the palatial setting, CHANTAL, making final adjustments
to her clothing, exits the elevator and joins him.

          CHANTAL (hands
            him files)
Here are the files you asked for.
           REED
            Jacobson,
Channel 6. Find some dirt on him. I don't care what it takes...I want
            him ruined.
           CHANTAL (makes
            a note)
I'll get our people on it.

         A WOMAN enters
the scene. This is MARGARET, Reed's sister -- late fifties, elegant,
          energetic.

          MARGARET
            Reed!

         Around her neck,
MARGARET wears a long, luxurious GOLD CHAIN with an exquisitely delicate
pair of ANTIQUE SHEARS hanging from it. She carries a ROSE in one hand.
MARGARET bestows a ritualistic kiss on REED'S cheek.

          MARGARET (fretful)
I don't understand how the press found out about our being here. Honestly,
            I could just--

         As she pins the
rose to his lapel, she notices something wrong.

           REED (pats her
            hand)
It's okay, Margaret. Don't worry your pretty little head over that.
We have a campaign staff now to deal with the media.
          MARGARET (a subtle
            reprimand)
Reed...this is not the tie I picked out to go with this suit...

         She starts to loosen
          REED'S tie.

          CHANTAL
It's the tie the Image Consultants chose.
          MARGARET ...it's
not a good color for you, Reed.
          REED
Margaret, my ever concerned sister, we have to start thinking presidential,
            now don't we?

         REED removes the
scarlet rose from his lapel and hands it back to MARGARET. REED walks
to the elevator leaving MARGARET and CHANTAL. CHANTAL exits. MARGARET,
alone in the atrium, crushes the rose in her fist, the petals falling
to the floor as she walks off.
