Known as "Kate." William Brouder's second wife; they had 3 sons. The date of her marriage was obtained from her "Declaration For Widow's Pension" supplied by the National Archives. In that document, she says her husband was sick 5 months before his death. She also says she had known him only 2 weeks when they married. Both lived in Haverhill at the time; she did housework for a Mr. Adams, and he was a hatter.

The 1870 US Census indicates she could not read or write.

She wrote her will 6 days before her death. She named John Breen executor of her estate (who she identifies as a friend; probably not a relative). Her only kin were her sons John J. (living in New Haven, CT) and Daniel P. Brouder (living in Lawrence). The will left John just one dollar, while Daniel inherited the remainder of her estate.

Her death record says she was 68 years, 9 months. Cause of death: pthisis; POB: Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence, MA.

He is listed as a 2 year old in the 1870 US Census; the name is spelled "BRODUR."

Death record says he died from Oedema of the Lungs and was buried at Immaculate Conception. Newspaper obit says he was a well known baseball player who died at the age of 30 after an illness of less than 2 weeks.

According to the Lawrence Registry of Deeds, he left a brother, John, of Amesbury who later sold the property at 174 Exchange Street. The deed gives Daniel's middle initial as "P." Daniel is buried with his parents and brother, William, at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.

Birth certificate says father was a hatter. His father's US Navy Pension File has a copy of a note from St. Mary's Chuch in Lawrence dated 9/7/1888. That note verifies William's birthdate.

He is listed as being 1 year old in the 1870 US Census; the name is spelled "BRODUR." His death record says he died of Pthisis at the age of 26, and was a laborer. The newspaper obit says he was a member of Battery C at one time, and "well known as a local comedian." He is buried at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
